I love these little song-bird looking birds of prey. While they don’t have talons to hold prey, they will often-times impale their food so they can eat it. Also known as the Butcher Bird, they are plentiful in the south east, but in Canada for some un-known reason, they are suffering population loss at an alarming rate.

While they are prominent on the south east side of the states, there are different Shrikes in the same family. Post an image if you have one! :). Oh. Thank you
