I love these little song-bird looking birds of prey. While they don’t have talons to hold prey, they will often-times impale their food so they can eat it. Also known as the Butcher Bird, they are plentiful in the south east, but in Canada for some un-known reason, they are suffering population loss at an alarming rate.

We have butcher birds here too. I’m not sure if it’s the same bird though…
